Research direction

Critfall currently shows rolls as text only. Add a short (~0.5s) visual flash of the d20 result when a roll happens, replaced by any new roll, with distinct colors for nat 20 and nat 1. Keep it presentation-only so combat is never delayed. Add a config toggle to disable it and an API so other mods (Initiative during encounters) can suppress it without this depending on Initiative. Ship for NeoForge and Fabric on 1.21.1.

Quick roll showcase for real time combat

Critfall only shows rolls as text. Add a brief flash (~0.5s, tune to what looks best) of the d20 result when a roll happens.

  • Presentation only, never delays combat
  • New roll replaces the current flash
  • Nat 20 / nat 1 in a distinct color
  • Config toggle to turn it off
  • Other mods can suppress it (Initiative has its own animation during encounters); no dependency on Initiative
  • NeoForge + Fabric, 1.21.1
