Description

good first issue help wanted question

In 5e you can't hide from someone who can clearly see you. Right now Initiative lets you Hide anywhere, even in the open. If it works, you stay hidden until you attack, get hit or leave the fight.

Question: Should Hide only work when there's something between you and the enemy, like a wall or a tree? Initiative already checks for blocks between you and an attacker (that's how cover works), so the same check could be used here.

This would come together with a proper stealth system later, where mobs keep trying to spot you each turn. That needs real values that will come from Critfall: Checks which adds checks to the roll of fx perception / stealt / sleight of hand etc.

How strict should the requirement for hiding be?
