Start from the vendored wrappers at plugins/firecrawl/skills/firecrawl and plugins/playwright/skills/playwright and compare them to current upstream Firecrawl and Playwright skills using /plugin-quality:audit or plugin-dev:skill-reviewer. Record a switch-or-keep verdict per skill with upstream version, date, evidence, and a recheck trigger if keeping. Do not remove wrappers in this issue.

Problem

We ship our own wrappers of the Firecrawl and Playwright CLI skills (plugins/firecrawl/skills/firecrawl, plugins/playwright/skills/playwright) because the upstream skills did not meet our skill-quality bar: progressive disclosure and best-practice frontmatter. Nothing tells us when upstream catches up, so the vendored copies can drift or carry sync friction past the point they earn their keep.

Proposed

Audit the current upstream Firecrawl and Playwright skills against the same bar our own skills meet (for example with /plugin-quality:audit or plugin-dev:skill-reviewer), and record the result per skill:

  • Upstream passes: plan the switch to the upstream skill and the removal of our wrapper, as its own change.
  • Upstream fails: keep vendoring, and list the gaps with the upstream version checked, an as-of date and a recheck trigger.

Acceptance

  • Each skill has a recorded verdict (switch or keep) with the upstream version and the evidence.
  • No wrapper is removed in this issue; removal, if warranted, is a follow-up.
