Research direction

Start by checking the test setup and the happy-dom issue linked in the report, which describes Node 25's localStorage interference and possible workarounds. Reproduce the failure on Node 25+ in tests that touch localStorage, then adjust the testing setup so those tests pass on Node 25+ while preserving behavior on supported Node versions.

Description

blocked/blocking maintenance

Any tests that touch localStorage fail on Node 25+, because Node 25 implements a localStorage that (I gather) interferes with the localStorage that was previously provided with happy-dom (see https://github.com/capricorn86/happy-dom/issues/1950). For anyone using Node 25+, we need to make some sort of changes to our testing setup to allow the tests to run. There appear to be some workarounds we can try in the referenced issue, but I won't have time to track this down in the immediate future.
