Direzione di ricerca

Read test/test_polar_histogram.py for the project’s testing example, then choose one component from the listed localizers, controllers, planners, maps, search algorithms, or detectors. Build small tests with known inputs and expected outputs; for example, check A* path length, straight-ahead Pure Pursuit steering, or kd-tree results against brute force. Done means the chosen component has focused output-checking unit tests; coordinate the component in the issue and open one PR for it.

Problem

Most tests are smoke tests that only run main() with show_plot = False. They don't check outputs, so wrong results pass (e.g. an obstacle yaw bug or a planner that finds a bad path). There are no direct unit tests for:

  • Localizers: EKF, UKF, particle filter
  • Controllers: Pure Pursuit, Adaptive Pure Pursuit, Stanley, Rear Wheel Feedback, LQR, MPC, MPPI
  • Planners: A*, Dijkstra, RRT family, PRM and others
  • Maps and search: grid map, binary occupancy grid, cost/NDT/potential maps, kd-tree
  • Detectors: L-shape fitting, robust least squares

Expected fix

Add small unit tests that check outputs on simple inputs where the answer is known, for example:

  • A* on an empty grid returns a path of the expected length
  • Pure Pursuit returns zero steering when the target point is straight ahead
  • kd-tree nearest neighbor matches a brute-force search

Please open one PR per component, and mention which component you are working on in this issue to avoid duplicate work. See test/test_polar_histogram.py for an example.
