Research direction

Start with the Move and Rotate/Scale plans, which list snapping as unsupported, and with .project-docs/mcp.md and its coverage inventory. Snap state must live in the authoritative session state exposed over MCP, and the Editor protocol tests need scene token, draft, modal, close and busy guard cases. Done means the acceptance criteria hold, including a reviewed native screenshot and a documented comparison against the pinned Maya reference in #5, with unverified constants marked provisional.

Description

area/viewport type/feature

Problem

No snapping exists.

Current behavior

Listed as unsupported in the Move and Rotate/Scale plans.

Expected behavior

Grid, curve, point (and later surface) snapping toggles with visible state and MCP coverage.

Acceptance criteria

  • Snap state is part of the authoritative session state exposed over MCP.
  • Unimplemented controls stay visibly disabled with a reason; no dummy tools or controls.
  • MCP coverage in the same change: implemented operations and relevant state exposed with synchronized tool schemas, real Editor protocol tests (scene token, draft, modal, close and busy guards) and updates to .project-docs/mcp.md and its coverage inventory.
  • Native visual check of the real window (screenshot reviewed), not only headless tests.
  • Tests cover malformed, empty, boundary and failure cases; failed operations preserve the baseline.
  • No parity claim without comparison against the pinned Maya reference (#5); unverified constants are documented as provisional.
