Research direction

Start by reproducing the poll-length display on iPad: create a poll, change its duration, and inspect the text beside “Poll length.” Trace the shared dynamic-string formatting used by poll votes, DM pinned-message counts, and tweet replies to find why values become a fixed placeholder. Done means these dynamic strings render their actual values, including values such as “1 day 3 hours 4 min,” without affecting unrelated text.

Description

bug

Describe the bug
Some dynamic strings are corrupted, e.g. all become “x day(s) ago” or “x new item.” I’ve noticed this with the number of votes and time remaining in polls, number of pinned messages in DMs, and randomly after replying to someone else’s tweet.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Attempt to make a poll
  2. Adjust the time the poll will last for
  3. Check the text to the right of “Poll length”

Expected behavior
The text appears correctly, e.g. 1 day 3 hours 4 min.
