What happened?
install-tool hangs forever when the containerbase tmp folder (/tmp/containerbase) isn't writable.
InstallToolService.install()callsawait this.ipc.start().IpcServer.start()waits for node-ipc'sstartevent; whenipc.sockcan't be created (EROFS,EACCES), node-ipc only emitserror, which is logged, so the promise never settles.
Expected
install-tool fails early with a clear error, like it does for a read-only /opt/containerbase (EROFS: can't write to …).
Proposed fix
- Add the containerbase tmp folder to the
ensureWritablecheck ofinstall-tool, before the IPC server starts. - Don't make
start()reject on its own:install()would then callstop()on a server that never started, and its error rollback would remove an already installed version.
