The work spans two repositories: the Renovate containerbase datasource (renovatebot/renovate#46871) and allToolConfig in lib/util/exec/containerbase.ts in this repo. Read the published tool-versions layout and the $schema field first, since the proposal depends on containerbase/tool-versions#85 and #86 landing. Done means the datasource fetches the versioned per-tool JSON, warns from /index.json on deprecated majors, falls back to the pinned npm package, and the tool config is generated rather than hand-written.

Track the Renovate side of the tool-versions data, so Renovate looks up containerbase tool versions from the published files.
Proposal
- The
containerbasedatasource (renovatebot/renovate#46871) readshttps://containerbase.github.io/tool-versions/v<major>/<tool>.jsonfor the major Renovate supports, and checks$schema. - It reads the root
/index.jsononly to warn when that major is deprecated. - A bundled fallback from
@containerbase/tool-versions(pinned major) when the live fetch fails. - Generate Renovate's
allToolConfig(lib/util/exec/containerbase.ts) from the published tools, so new tools don't need a manual entry.
Depends on the versioned path (containerbase/tool-versions#85) and the npm package (containerbase/tool-versions#86). Part of #7674.
