advanced Epic refactor

Top Level Bucket

This is a bucket containing major refactors for the "break stuff" period of the v2.8.0 release of the flight computer firmware. Much of the content worked here will have major implications on the other issues in this bucket, so this is a method of organizing these issues for better communication.
