Research direction

Read packages/core/src/utils/dateFormat.js and packages/core/src/filters/dateFilter.js to understand how the date_format setting and localized month names reach rendered dates. Then decide whether ordering follows the language, varies by language, or stays owner controlled; inspect the existing tests and add coverage for the chosen rule. Done means the rule is implemented with tests, or documented as the owner's choice.

Description

question

Dates keep the site's one date order in every language, so Greek shows "Μαρτίου 15, 2026" instead of "15 Μαρτίου 2026". Decide whether each language gets its own order.

The site has one date_format theme setting; formatDateOnly (packages/core/src/utils/dateFormat.js) localizes month names via Intl but keeps the chosen order, so with the default "December 31, 2026" a Greek page reads "Μαρτίου 15, 2026" where Greek usage is "15 Μαρτίου 2026". Options: a per-language date format, a "follow the language's usual order" format, or leave it to the owner's choice. Seen 2026-10-18 (#115 review, LANG-034).

Done when: The chosen rule is implemented with tests, or documented as the owner's choice.

Start: dateFormat.js, dateFilter.js.
