Research direction

The issue identifies no files, tests, or implementation entry points. Start by tracing how messages display externally linked image URLs and how message content loading is handled. Determine whether images can be displayed safely and whether users can choose manual or automatic loading; done when linked images are viewable and the loading behavior, including any data fee warning, is defined.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

It would be great to have the ability to see images that are linked externally, instead of just the image's URL. Also a toggle for manually loading or automatically loading content, maybe add a warning for data fees too.
