Research direction

Start in the iOS app’s connected companion location update and map marker code; the issue does not name files or tests. Check how changing latitude and longitude values from the connected T1000-E are received and reflected on the map. Done means the connected radio’s map icon follows its changing GPS location without reconnecting.

Description

I'm using Meshcore on iOS with a T1000-E as a bluetooth connected companion. I went for a walk in my neighborhood to see how far away I could get from my home nodes and still reach them. What I noticed was that the icon for my connected radio, which was in my pocket, did not ever update its location on the map. I can get the icon to move to where I currently am by disconnecting the bluetooth connection and reconnecting. I can also see the lat/long values on the settings page change as I walk around, but the icon never moves on the map. So it seems that the iOS app is either not requesting lat/long from the radio, or it isn't doing anything with those changing lat/long values.

What I would expect to happen is that my icon on the map would update as I moved by reading the companion's GPS location.
