Research direction

Find the session API and its cache wrapper, then check how it currently exposes cache capacity and how the underlying quick_cache is used. Add access to set_capacity so callers can reduce capacity for existing sessions; done when the session API exposes this operation and its behavior can be verified with a focused test.

Description

feature performance

the underlying quick_cache supports decreasing the capacity of a cache via the "set_capacity()" API:
https://docs.rs/quick_cache/latest/quick_cache/sync/struct.Cache.html#method.set_capacity

this is unseful in case that we want to manage multiple sessions and want to limit the overall memory usage of all sessions, without blocking new ones or deleting existing ones.

the "set_capacity()" API would allow partial eviction on existing sessions with minimal impact on the payload.
