Research direction

Start with code_editor.py, AIChatPanel.js, and pages/codeEditor/index.js, the files named in the report; reproduce each behavior while testing AI feedback and assignment resubmission. Check how feedback is disabled, filenames persist across reloads, and feedback handles earlier insights and hints. Done means all three reported behaviors are corrected, including avoiding a silent zero score after resubmission.

Description

Found while testing PR #369. None of these are caused by that PR.

  1. AI chat shows "Limit reached" when AI feedback is disabled. code_editor.py returns remaining=0 when feedback is off, and AIChatPanel.js shows it as a usage limit. It should say AI feedback is disabled for the assignment.
  2. Editor filename resets on reload. pages/codeEditor/index.js resets the filename to <assignment>.py on reload. If the autograder expects another name, a resubmit silently scores 0.
  3. Feedback repeats earlier insights. On a resubmit, feedback repeated previous insights verbatim ("handles basic arithmetic correctly") even for a submission that scored 0/20. The first submission also named the fix outright despite the Hint-based style.
