調査の方向性

Start by tracing the validate and update commands in the ahlserver scripts and how they invoke SteamCMD with AppID 90 and the steam_legacy branch. Compare that flow with the reported content_log.txt entries and shared AppID 70/10 files to locate how shared content is handled. Done means repeated update and validate runs leave the shared Half-Life content installed and the server starts and answers queries.

説明

distro: Ubuntu engine: goldsrc game: Action Half-Life info: docker info: steamcmd status: fixed in develop type: bug
Severity

High: the server starts but never loads a map or answers queries

Reproducibility

Sometimes

Regression

Unknown. Seen after switching ahlserver to the steam_legacy branch.

Affects latest release

Yes

User story

As a GoldSrc server owner, I want update and validate to leave the shared Half-Life content in place, so that the server keeps loading its map.

Script name

ahlserver (any server that uses AppID 90 can be affected)

Game

Action Half-Life

Linux distro

Ubuntu 26.04 (the gameserver:ahl docker image)

Command

validate, update

Expected behavior

After SteamCMD finishes, the shared content from AppID 70 (Half-Life) and AppID 10 (Counter-Strike) is still installed, and the server starts normally.

Actual behavior

SteamCMD sometimes decides the shared depots of AppID 70 and AppID 10 are no longer wanted for AppID 90 and uninstalls them, but it still reports success. serverfiles/valve shrinks from about 516 MB to under 10 MB, and valve/valve.rc (which holds stuffcmds) is deleted. Without it, +map never runs: the console stops after couldn't exec banned.cfg and the server never answers a query. Only steamapps/appmanifest_90.acf is left.

On a test server this happened twice: on the first update after the switch to steam_legacy, and again on a later validate, 22 minutes after a previous validate had restored the files. Seven attempts to reproduce it on fresh and copied installs did not trigger it, so it looks intermittent on the Steam side. A second validate restores the content.

Further information

+app_set_config 90 mod cstrike +app_update 90 -beta steam_legacy validate is the command LinuxGSM runs, which is correct.

Relevant log output

From content_log.txt:

AppID 70 config changed : removed depots 1,71
AppID 10 config changed : removed depots 11
AppID 10 starting commit ... : 0 updated, 0 moved, 1188 deleted files
AppID 70 starting commit ... : 0 updated, 0 moved, 4322 deleted files
AppID 10 finished uninstall (No Error)
AppID 70 finished uninstall (No Error)
Steps to reproduce
  1. Install ahlserver (branch steam_legacy).
  2. Run ./ahlserver validate or ./ahlserver update repeatedly.
  3. Sometimes steamapps/appmanifest_70.acf and valve/valve.rc disappear and the server stops answering queries.
