Reproduce the failure with the AOC ACT3512 connected directly to the Frame rear port, then compare dmesg with the working USB 2.0 hub connection. Start with the xHCI and USB messages, including error -71 and the failed configuration. Done means the dongle is recognized directly and appears in Frame audio settings with working audio.

Issue

AOC ACT3512 2.4ghz usb-c audio dongle (for wireless earbuds) does not work when plugged directly into headset

When dongle plugged directly into Frame:

LED on dongle lights up and remains solid (same as on a functioning device)
AOC device not shown in Frame settings menu, and can't be used for audio
see dmesg log below. output is not exactly the same every time, this was one of the more verbose outputs

When dongle is plugged into USB hub then plugged into Frame:

Does work, device is recognized with the correct name in Frame Audio settings. Earbuds produce sound in applications.
Volume control range doesn't seem correct

Other info:

Dongle / earbuds do work with ipad, windows 11 PC, cachyos PC
Product page lists Steam Deck compatibility, so likely a Frame specific issue
