Start with the four named locations: climada/util/dwd_icon_loader.py:299, climada/entity/exposures/litpop/gpw_population.py:164, and climada/conf/climada.conf:33,36,39; inspect their callers and existing tests. The report gives verified alternatives for some sources, but NOAA requires a decision because the replacement redirects to login. Done means the grid matches the GRIB, user guidance points to reachable data, and no config entry is unreachable by construction.

3 climada/conf/climada.conf:33 (noaa_url) 404
4 climada/conf/climada.conf:36, :39 URLs contain a literal *, and nightlight.py:372 uses them as is

For 1, the pinned file is still served (HTTP 200). For 2, the URL appears only in a FileNotFoundError message, but it is the only instruction users get for that input.

Expected behavior

Each pinned source resolves to the data the code expects, or the error message says what to do.
