Research direction

Start with .github/code-health-baseline.json and choose one test function listed there; keep the pull request to one file. Split that function into named tests, keeping each case's setup, action, and checks in its test body, and group cases of one form in a table. Preserve every case the original test covered, use one condition per check, and leave the baseline unchanged.

Description

help wanted

Part of #262.

Where it stands (4 Nov 2026). 84 test functions (Go and Python) have a cognitive complexity over 15, and 27 Go test functions a cyclomatic complexity over 15. They are listed in .github/code-health-baseline.json with the product functions.

Target. 0.

How to help.

  1. Pick one test function from the baseline. One file per pull request.
  2. Split it into named tests. Each test keeps its setup, action and checks in its own body: no helper that holds checks, and one condition per check.
  3. Keep every case the old test covered. Cases of one form go in one table.
  4. Leave the baseline file alone. It is updated in batches.
