Research direction

This is design work, so start by agreeing on the neutral schema type that dbkit declares, covering tables, columns, nullability and indexes. The readers live in the dbkit/postgres and dbkit/sqlite packages, and each should read a handle's catalog into that one shape. Done means both readers return the shared type and a test compares two values. Confirm the shape with the maintainers before writing any reader.

Description

help wanted

Downstream applications need to prove that their PostgreSQL and SQLite schemas hold the same tables, columns, nullability and indexes. Current state: each application that keeps twin schemas writes its own catalog reader for each engine. Proposal: dbkit/postgres and dbkit/sqlite each read a handle's catalog into one neutral schema shape that dbkit declares, so a test compares two values. Trigger: a second application or brick needs the comparison.
