Línea de trabajo

Start by reading the release.yml workflow in the TWC repository the issue points to, and the Kustomize manifests in this repo that hold the image tags. Build the new workflow to run on v* tag pushes, publish amd64 and arm64 images, and create the GitHub Release with the CRDs and operator manifests attached. Done when pushing a tag publishes everything with no manual steps and installing that version pulls its own image, not latest.

Descripción

Goal

Tagging a version publishes everything users need to install that release, with no manual steps.

Tasks

  • Add a GitHub Actions workflow that runs when a version tag such as v0.1.0 is pushed (copy TWC's release.yml and GoReleaser setup)
  • Build multi-arch images (amd64 and arm64) and push them to the registry
  • Set each release's image tag in the Kustomize manifests, so installing a version pulls that version's image
  • Create the GitHub Release with notes and the install files (CRDs and operator manifests)

Definition of done

  • Pushing a version tag publishes the images and creates the GitHub Release, with no manual steps.
  • Installing a released version with Kustomize pulls that version's image, not latest.
  • The release process is documented in Google Docs.
