Goal
Tagging a version publishes everything users need to install that release, with no manual steps.
Tasks
- Add a GitHub Actions workflow that runs when a version tag such as
v0.1.0is pushed (copy TWC'srelease.ymland GoReleaser setup) - Build multi-arch images (amd64 and arm64) and push them to the registry
- Set each release's image tag in the Kustomize manifests, so installing a version pulls that version's image
- Create the GitHub Release with notes and the install files (CRDs and operator manifests)
Definition of done
- Pushing a version tag publishes the images and creates the GitHub Release, with no manual steps.
- Installing a released version with Kustomize pulls that version's image, not
latest. - The release process is documented in Google Docs.
