Línea de trabajo

Start by tracing the downstream estimators for PSF leakage, ξ±, pseudo-Cℓ, and the ρ/τ adapter, then inspect get_calibrate_e_from_cat and the minimal calibration demo. Compare how configured weights and shear response are applied, and check how modern SP products avoid recalibration. Done means the leakage fit and downstream estimators use the configured weights and a common calibrated shear, with the two open convention and population identity decisions resolved.

Descripción

At #425, the downstream estimators don't all use the same weight and shear calibration:

  • The PSF-leakage fit uses DES weights even for IV-calibrated catalogues; this affects the leakage-corrected columns.
  • ξ± divides by the response and subtracts the weighted mean, while pseudo-Cℓ uses the configured ellipticities directly. The ρ/τ adapter doesn't forward a scalar response.
  • The minimal calibration demo doesn't write the configured weights and response metadata correctly.

Make the leakage fit follow the configured weight and use a common calibrated shear in downstream estimators without recalibrating modern SP products.

Two related decisions remain: confirm the convention for averaging external DES R11/R22 with nonuniform weights, and strengthen the population identity check in get_calibrate_e_from_cat (row count and weight sum don't uniquely identify a population).
