Research direction

Start by tracing the existing dock hide/show behavior, current keyboard shortcuts for dock items, and pointer handling at the bottom edge. Define how a shortcut and/or dwell gesture should override the configured hiding behavior, then verify that the dock reliably appears in each supported scenario.

Description

Needs Design Priority: Wishlist
Problem

When the dock hides due to being overlapped by a window it cannot be made to show (afaik) except by moving the window. It would be convenient for it to be possible to override any behaviour due to settings with a shortcut and/or gesture.

Proposal

For example Super + 0 could be used to expose the dock itself since other numbers are used to "expose" (launch) dock items.

Dwelling the pointer against the bottom edge should also force expose the dock after a certain time.
