Research direction

The payload names no source files, so begin by reproducing the steps in Manage > Users on a local DNN instance. Find where the Persona Bar handles the Escape key and check whether the open row menu stops that event from reaching the panel's close handler. Done means Esc closes only the open menu and the Users panel stays open, which you can confirm by repeating the reproduction steps.

Summary

With a user row's … (more actions) menu open, pressing Esc closes the entire Users panel, not just the menu. Users expect Escape to close only the top-most popup.

Steps to reproduce?

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Manage › Users.
  2. Click the … icon at the end of a user row. A menu shows View Profile / Change Password / Force Password Change / Send Password Reset Link.
  3. Press Escape.
Current Behavior

The Users panel closes completely and the page behind is shown.

Expected Behavior

Only the actions menu closes; the Users panel stays open.
