Research direction

Start by tracing how the Extensions menu builds and opens the “In Use” links, then inspect the related navigation tests or add a reproduction for navigating to another page via a module. Verify that the URL bar matches the destination and that refreshing or entering Edit mode keeps you on that page. The issue does not name specific files or tests.

What happened?

When you use the Extensions menu to navigate to a page that has a module on it using the 'In Use' menu, it opens the link incorrectly. The page is loaded in the same window/tab, but the URL bar is not updated. This means that when you refresh or trigger a postback (such as switching to Edit mode), you are instead sent back to the page you came from.

Steps to reproduce?
  1. Have a site with at least two pages, with a module on a page you are not currently viewing.
  2. Use the Extensions menu 'In Use' menu to navigate to a different page via a module.
  3. Refresh the page, or attempt to enter Edit mode.
Current Behavior

You are returned to the previous page.

Expected Behavior

Two possibilities:

  1. Open the link in a new window/tab, making sure to populate the URL bar correctly. In my opinion, this is the preferred choice.
  2. Open the link in the same window/tab, but make sure to populate the URL bar correctly.
