Research direction

The issue does not name files or tests. Start by locating the Page Settings implementation for the “Existing” page type and how it builds the selected page's URL. Determine where a query-string field fits alongside the Page Picker, then check the relevant tests or add coverage for URLs with and without a query string. Done means an Existing page can retain its selected page and append the specified query string.

Description of problem

When you use "Existing" as a Page Type in the Page Settings, you can select any page in DNN. However, you can't add query strings to the page.

If the page changes the URL, or moves, then this link can get broken. It's also a problem for multilingual sites, I think.

It would be better if it just still let me pick the page by the Page Picker dropdown but add the query strings I want.

Description of solution

It would be useful if there was field that would allow adding a query string to the end of the page. I don't know if this is the right way of going about this but just putting an idea out here.

Description of alternatives considered

Currently, I have to create a Page that uses "Page Type: URL" and then put in the full URL which feels cumbersome because but it works.

Anything else?

This would be useful for a site that I'm building where I have a bunch of pages in the menu that point to the same page but then filtering happens based on what's in the query strings.
