Rechercherichtung

This is a feature request in the aws-lambda-roadmap repository, which holds the roadmap rather than code, so there is no file or test in the payload to change. The work is a product decision for AWS: whether Lambda MicroVMs can persist for up to 30 days with 8-hour run segments and snapshot-based suspend and resume. Done would mean an accepted or declined roadmap outcome, not a patch; newcomers should vote with a reaction rather than start work.

Description
Lets you retain MicroVMs for up-to 30 days after initial creation. Each MicroVM gets uninterrupted execution duration of 8 hours at a time, after which it is suspended (i.e. snapshotted) and can thereafter be resumed either via API call or automatically (if configured).

Additional context
This is useful for agentic workloads that need each MicroVM to retain memory/disk state over extended periods. For example, consider a MicroVM being used for a data analysis use case that spans hours/days with long idle gaps in between. Being able to suspend-resume execution lets you keep memory/disk state as-is, while resuming execution rapidly.
