Research direction

Start from the custom dictionary and Custom Words (Advanced) screens, then trace how words are saved and passed to speech recognition. Reproduce with “posthog” and check whether a saved word appears in the library and changes recognition from “post hoc”; clarify the distinction between the two word lists in the interface.

Description

bug
Describe the bug

In the custom dictionary it always says "These recordings contain everyday words" for pretty much any word I want to add. E.g. adding "posthog" (because it recognizes it as "post hoc" won't work.

Also I couldn't find how to add new words manually. Not just are the dictionary words hidden in a sidebar I separately have to open, there's no way to add new words anywhere (or I couldn't find it at least). Adding it to the "Custom Words (Advanced)" works, but they don't appear in the library. Furthermore configuring advanced words still doesn't help with recognition - it keeps spelling "post hoc".

Reproduction steps

Speak "posthog" and see the recognition error. Try adding a new word in the Custom Dictionary and see the "everyday" message appear. Try to add it to custom words (advanced) and find no improvement in recognition.

Expected behavior

The Custom Words functionality is great, but it should accept my edits - an easier way to find the library of custom words would be great and some explanation what the difference between the custom words and custom dictionary is (if there's even any difference).

Actual behavior

As described.
