Research direction

Start in SwapChain.Resources.cs at the cited lines and trace how transient color and depth attachments select their memory type. Check whether the selected type can prefer LazilyAllocated when available while preserving desktop behavior. Measure memory savings on a Galaxy S24 FE and confirm desktop behavior is unchanged.

Description

Current State

Per-swapchain color and depth images use TransientAttachmentBit but never LazilyAllocated memory (SwapChain.Resources.cs:291, 312-315, 404-407), wasting memory on tile GPUs.

Tasks

  • Prefer a LazilyAllocated memory type for transient attachments when available

Acceptance Criteria

  • Memory saving measured on the Galaxy S24 FE; desktop unchanged
