Research direction

Find the EmoteParticle class and its tick method, then inspect how the particle tracks a LivingEntity and sets its size. Verify the emote icon scales with the tracked entity's changing scale, matching the behavior described in the issue. Confirm the change in-game with an entity whose size changes.

Description

the "icon" seems to scale up/down with the size of the entity in the game changed, which doesn't happen in the mod.

my suggestion is to add this in the tick method ->
if (track instanceof LivingEntity livingTrack) {
float size = 0.3f * livingTrack.getScale();
this.setSize(size, size);
this.quadSize = 0.3f * livingTrack.getScale();
}
