Research direction

Start by reading the routine editor’s exercise details screen and the Exercise Library code that edits progression settings and favorites; the issue does not name specific files or tests. Check how exercise settings are shared so edits in one routine stay synchronized across the app. Done when users can configure all three listed progression methods and toggle a favorite in the routine editor, with both changes reflected in the Exercise Library.

Description

enhancement

When creating or editing a workout routine, I can configure the number of sets, reps, and rest time for each exercise.

However, I still have to go to the Exercise Library to change an exercise's progression settings or add it to my favorites.

For example, when setting up a routine with several exercises, I often have to switch between the routine editor and the Exercise Library repeatedly just to make these changes.

It would be much more convenient if I could do everything in one place.

1. Edit progression settings

Allow users to select and configure an exercise's progression method directly from its details screen in the routine editor.

This should include the progression methods already supported by GymMane, such as:

  • Double Progression
  • Linear Progression
  • Reps + Sets + Weight

Users should also be able to configure the corresponding parameters for each method.

2. Add or remove favorites

Add a star icon to each exercise's details screen in the routine editor.

This would allow users to add or remove exercises from their favorites with a single tap, without having to open the Exercise Library.

Expected behavior

Ideally, these changes should update the exercise's existing settings rather than create separate settings for each routine.

For example, if I change the progression settings for Barbell Squat in one routine, the same settings should be reflected wherever that exercise is used.

The favorite status should also stay synchronized with the Exercise Library.

This would make creating and editing workout routines much more convenient and reduce unnecessary navigation between different parts of the app.
