Research direction

Start by locating the MO diagram code that draws phase sketches for 3-D ligand sets and trace its projection code. The issue describes a popup about four times larger than the icon, with rotation or dragging and a headless hook to open a given level and render a frame at a given angle. Done means the enlarged view makes the sign pattern legible and can be rendered without clicking for tests and screenshots.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

Follow-up to #368. A 3-D ligand set's phase sketch (Oh, Td) has about 40 px in the diagram column; for pi sets the twelve markers overlap, so the sign pattern cannot be read. Drawing them as p-orbital dumbbells was tried and reverted (worse at that size); the arrows stay.

Option for later: clicking a sketch opens it about four times larger in a small popup, slowly rotating (or draggable), drawn with the same projection code, so the lobes separate and the 3-D arrangement is clear. The column keeps the small icon. Dumbbells would suit the enlarged view.

Needs a headless hook (open the popup for a given level, render one frame at a given angle) so it can be tested and screenshotted without clicking.
