Research direction

This is a product feature: timestamp bookmarks with attached text (and possibly embedding them in the audio file), not a named bug or file. Start from how recordings are stored and how the player UI is built in this Android Kotlin app. Done means a user can add, edit, and see bookmarks at playback positions; there is no existing patch or agreed design in the thread.

Feature description

I think it would be nice if this application implement bookmarks for transcription, the way Samsung's voice recorder does. You would be able to add a bookmark at a certain timestamp and add text to it. I believe Samsung's implementation modify the audio file itself to embed the bookmarks in.

Why do you want this feature?

I think this is a good way to be able to manually transcribe long audios of people talking, like at a meeting.
