The cockpit runs but throws in non-obvious ways if run over plain http.
This is caused by browsers making crypto.randomUUID() only available in secure contexts (HTTPS or localhost)
Possible fixes:
- Switch to using crypto.getRandomValues() for non security related random values
- Warn the user when opening the site over http
- Document this
