Start with fitPanel and detailBounds in src/lib/detail-panel.ts, where the existing proportional height fit is, and with panelRect in src/lib/dock.ts, which takes the width from panelWidthFor(orbSize) × textScale. Done means the panel stays inside area.w at large text scales and when the strip sits on a side edge, with the height behaviour unchanged. The issue leaves the approach open (extend the proportional fit to the horizontal axis, taking the stricter of the two factors), so agree on it before coding.

Qué pasa
El panel de detalle ajusta su altura al área de trabajo (fitPanel lo encoge cuando no cabe), pero nada ajusta su ancho a area.w. Con la escala de texto de #228, el ancho en unidades de monitor es panelWidthFor(orbSize) × textScale. Con un tamaño de texto grande (por ejemplo 150-225 %) en una pantalla estrecha, o con la tira en un borde lateral, el panel podría salirse del área de trabajo.
No se ha observado en los casos reales de #228 (106 %): es un límite conocido que queda fuera de esa issue.
Qué se espera
Que el panel nunca se salga del área de trabajo en ancho, igual que ya ocurre en altura.

fitPanelal eje horizontal, tomando el factor más restrictivo de los dos ejes. Se decide al abordarla.
