描述

bug hacktoberfest

Describe the bug

The meta analyzer checks the length of the HTML <title> element but does not check the length of og:title when no <title> element is present. Since og:title becomes the effective title for social previews, overly long values can pass without a warning.

To Reproduce

  1. Open the Preview Checker.
  2. Analyze a page without a <title> element.
  3. Add an og:title longer than 70 characters:
<meta property="og:title"
content="This is an intentionally very long Open Graph title that exceeds seventy characters">
  1. Review the analyzer results.

Expected behavior

The analyzer should warn that the effective title is longer than the recommended 70-character limit.

Actual behavior

No title-length warning is shown when the long value exists only in og:title.

Screenshots

Not applicable.

Environment

  • Browser: Chrome
  • OS: Windows 11
  • Node version: 22.x
  • npm version: 10.x
  • URL: Local Preview Checker or the relevant API URL

Additional context

The analyzer should validate the effective title using:

const effectiveTitle = tags.title || tags.ogTitle;

A regression test should also be added for pages containing an overlong og:title without an HTML <title>.
