Reproduce on Linux by opening the window, expanding the pane, and trying to collapse it again. Done means the pane starts in the intended state, its collapse button works after expanding, and it fills the bottom area's full width.

Found 2026-10-15 (Linux, test-912 build, QE silicon calculation). The Log pane at the bottom is collapsed when the window opens. Once expanded:
- its collapse button no longer collapses it;
- it occupies only the left half of the bottom area, and the right half stays empty.
Not release-critical.
