The settings in namelist_definition_ufsatm.xml for history output intervals are inconsistent and cause errors in the output files, for the v16beta compset.
Specifically, fdiag and fhmaxhf in atmos_model_nml do not agree with the esmf_config is settings, nfhmax_hf.
This causes the model to write the history files (via the write_component) but NOT update the Diag DDT at the same interval, so identical files are written for (in this case) 3hrs.
Recommended solution: there is no need to override these variables from their defaults for v16beta. The default settings work as expected.
