Read learn/auto-promote.ts around the flaggedFeedback heuristic and the evidence gate, then review docs/docs/configure/learn.md. The issue defers implementation pending a design decision: choose whether to restrict promotion to user_correction signals or require a human-authored signal, and add the proposed warning. Found during the v0.12.7 release review (CTO and compliance reviewers). Deferred: needs a design decision. Auto-promotion (#1418) is off by default.
- The evidence gate accepts
reviewandcisignals, whose text can come from PR comments or CI output written by others. The only injection defence is theflaggedFeedbackheuristic (learn/auto-promote.ts~213), and a promoted lesson goes into the system prompt. Limits (3 changes per promotion, 5 per day) andlearn rollbackcontain it. - Promoted lessons land in
.altimate-code/learn/<name>/approved.json, the one learn file meant to be committed.redactSecretsstrips credentials but not PII such as names, emails or row values, so an unreviewed lesson from a session over customer data could be committed.
Options: allow auto-promotion only from user_correction signals (or require one human-authored signal), and add a warning to docs/docs/configure/learn.md.
