What
The Labs page has five exercises built on scenario files in examples/labs/ (first scan, wildcard, rate limiting, recursion, failures). Each runs offline against a local DNS server, so they are safe in a classroom.
Ideas for lab 6
- A CNAME chain several hops long, ending in a dangling target.
- An IPv6-only service (AAAA records only) that the default
-type A,AAAAfinds but-type Amisses. - A zone where
-permutefinds names (api-dev,api2) the wordlist does not contain.
How
- Write
examples/labs/lab6-<topic>.zone; the format is documented at the end ofdocs/labs.md. - Add a "Lab 6" section to
docs/labs.mdwith the commands, questions to answer, and the answers. - Add the scenario to
TestE2ELabsinmain_lab_test.goso its expected results stay true.
Done when
The new lab runs with -simulate-zone, is documented with answers, and is covered by the lab test.
