Research direction

Start in assets/profiler-engine.js at buildHeldOut() and compare how parseXLSX() returns ignoredSheets with the handling in assets/profiler-ui.js and the CLI’s sheet_notes. Trace how held-out specs produce errors and populate the proxy results area. Done when ignored-sheet details appear in the missing-column error and on successful results, as described in the issue.

Description

bug good first issue

Where: assets/profiler-engine.js buildHeldOut().

Current gap: parseXLSX() returns ignoredSheets, and both the main dropzone and the CLI (sheet_notes) tell the user when a workbook has extra sheets that were not read. buildHeldOut() uses only .table and drops that information, so a dropped attribute living on sheet 2 simply produces "column not found" with no hint why.

Repro:

$ grep -n "ignoredSheets" assets/profiler-engine.js assets/profiler-ui.js | head
(profiler-ui.js reports it for the main file; buildHeldOut does not)

Suggested approach: collect ignoredSheets per spec and include a note in the error ("only the first sheet 'X' was read; sheets Y, Z were ignored") and in the proxy results area on success.
