Any ideas if there's a way to keep gh-actions-lock extension pinned, but automated automatically?

Currently I guess I will just pin it in CI using gh extension install github/gh-actions-lock --pin v0.4.1 and will update it once I get notification locally when using gh. But gh sends notifications only when I use gh actions-lock, which I assume won't happen very often - main work on the actions.lock will be done by dependabot and command will be executed manually only when new use of some action will be introduced.

Also noticed that this repo itself had outdated pin, submitting a fix - https://github.com/github/gh-actions-lock/pull/265

Extensions currently don't have any manifests or lock files, so there's no general solution - https://github.com/cli/cli/issues/6118

Below is sort of an idea of a hack I came up with in the mentioned issue. Not ideal, since it may mean a fake .pre-commit-config.yaml just for this, but it is a solution (e.g. to use yq to read the pinned version in CI / locally during gh extension install + dependabot support).

12. Kind of a hack, but in theory if gh-action-lock had pre-commit hook, then it would be possible to use it as a manifest both locally and CI (even if pre-commit itself won't be used) and dependabot will help maintain it.
