The payload names no files, so start by finding where the Kotlin Android contacts search filters phone numbers and how it normalizes them before comparing. Done means a search for "01234 56789" matches a contact saved as "+49 1234 56789" without breaking existing number or name searches. The maintainers have not agreed on an approach, so check with them before writing code.

Hello Fossify Developers,
thank you for maintaining great apps.

In my country the phone numbers are usually referred to without country code, but with leading '0' like:

01234 56789

Sometimes they are saved in contacts as:

+49 1234 56789

When searching for "01234 56789" the number is not found.
As simple fix, maybe the leading 0 in search bar can be ignored?

I am looking forward for any feedback.
