Describe the bug
Since around October 1st, macOS users have been unable to enroll in the Defguard VPN client. When attempting to create a new instance:

  • One-click configuration: The "Add Instance" button hangs / becomes unresponsive.
  • Manual configuration: It fails with an "Invalid URL" error.

The issue has been reproduced on the following machines and OS versions:

  • MacBook Air M5 16GB (macOS 27.0.1)
  • MacBook Pro M4 Pro 24GB (macOS 26.6.1)
  • MacBook Pro M2 16GB (macOS 27.0.1)

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to the "One-click configuration" or do a manuel configuration
  2. Click on "Add instance" in DefGuard
  3. See error

Expected behavior
The enrollment process (adding the instance) should complete successfully without freezing or throwing an "Invalid URL" error.

Version information

  • Defguard Core version: v2.1.2
  • Defguard Gateway version: v2.0.2 (if bug is applicable to VPN functionality)
    • Operating system and version running the gateway: ?
