between rasterio 1.4 and 1.5 there are small differences when it comes to calculate an Affine.transformation from bounds - xmin, ymin, xmax, ymax - and resolution pair - res-x, res-y (climada.util.coordinates.pts_to_raster_meta).
at first glance rasterio seems to be a better match, as the test climada.util.test.test_coordinates.TestRasterMeta.test_get_resolution_meters_pass passes with rasterio 1.4 (124 meters off) and fails with 1.5 (620 meters off)
