Reproduce the fan-out using the provided dev build and confirm whether the issue_NN pattern is still unfilled when checks are stored. Done means each part's command names its own file, the unit coverage verifies expansion, and the missing-file check no longer creates a fix task.

Behaviour

Every per-part check in a fan-out run ran gofmt -l issue_.go …, a file that does not exist. The checks answered does not hold: … names issue_.go, which does not exist, which spawned 10 needless fix: tasks. The run cost 3.5 times its estimate ($0.90 against $0.26). Each part's check should name that part's file.

Replication

  1. Build dev 837b2b0 (git checkout 837b2b0 && make build, binary bin/codeaf), or install the dev build with curl -fsSL https://agentfield.ai/get/devaf | bash.
  2. Use an isolated profile: export HOME=$(mktemp -d), export OPENROUTER_API_KEY, and keep the default model (~deepseek/deepseek-v4-flash-latest, crew on auto).
  3. On a busy machine set task.max_load to 0 (/settings, Tasks) so the busy-machine gate does not hold tasks.
  4. Same repo shape as a 20-file fan-out: R=$(mktemp -d) && cd "$R" && git init -q && printf 'package main\n\nfunc main() {}\n' > main.go && printf 'module demo\n\ngo 1.22\n' > go.mod && git add -A && git commit -qm init, then issue_01.go … issue_20.go, committed.
  5. codeaf, then /task For each issue_NN.go, reverse its string helper, and check each part with gofmt -l and go test.
  6. Read the checks column of the part tasks in the run's plandb.db: the command names issue_.go.

Evidence

Guessed cause

A guess from reading the code, not a confirmed diagnosis. Per-part expansion of the issue_NN pattern is dropped when the planner declares the checks, so the template reaches the checker unfilled.

Acceptance

  • e2e: in the run above every part's check command names that part's own file, and no fix: task is created for a missing-file check.
  • Unit: declared per-part checks are expanded per part before they are stored.
