Research direction

Read the background discussion in issue #159 and trace how the editor stores links to pages, collection items, and languages, including links in widgets, menus, headers, and footers. Then identify how the site can be scanned for empty destinations and typed addresses that do not resolve. Done means an optional check reports each broken link with its location so the owner can re-point it.

Description

enhancement

An optional check the owner can run that lists links on the site which point nowhere: links left empty after their page, collection item or language was deleted, and typed addresses that don't resolve. Each finding names where the link is (page or item, widget, menu, header/footer) so the owner can re-point it.

The app keeps a deleted destination's link label on purpose, so the editor shows what needs re-pointing; fixing it stays the owner's job. This check only makes those links easy to find.
