Research direction

Start with longjob.sh and land.sh, tracing how the script selects the repository root and performs its git status --porcelain dirty-tree check. Choose and implement the project-approved handling for untracked files, then verify that landing works from the primary checkout when an untracked directory such as android/paraphrase/ is present.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

longjob.sh cds to the repo root of whichever copy of the script is called, so landing from the primary checkout runs land.sh there, and its dirty-tree check (git status --porcelain) fails on any untracked dir (seen: android/paraphrase/, 2026-10-02). Landing then needs a hand-made clean worktree, plus that worktree's own longjob.sh. Options: land.sh creates its own temp landing worktree off origin/main, or ignores untracked files in the dirty check (git status --porcelain -uno).
