Research direction

Read .claude/rules/mainframe-evidence-policy.md and the IBM published documentation for z/OS Connect EE API requester layouts, calls, return codes, and error areas. The work would require modeling that runtime in the det port, writing stand-in copybooks, and adding a cics-crucible or fixture program with IBM-doc-cited expected logs; no burned program currently uses it.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

scope:frontier

Frontier (owner ruling 2026-11-06 on census #7709, decision 2a): 2 census programs call REST APIs through IBM z/OS Connect EE API requester: they COPY IBM-supplied BAQ… interface copybooks (e.g. the request-info area) and CALL IBM's requester stub. Under the system-copybook rule (.claude/rules/mainframe-evidence-policy.md: never ship IBM's copybooks; a stand-in only with a modelled runtime) these programs stay unaccounted in #7709. This issue keeps the gap mapped.

What it would take (not scheduled)

  • A modelled z/OS Connect API requester runtime in the det port (the requester call, its request / response / info areas, return codes and error areas), written from IBM's published documentation.
  • Stand-in copybooks written from the documented layouts, never copied from IBM's product library (third-party IP rule: ideas only).
  • Evidence: a cics-crucible / fixture program calling a stub API, with IBM-doc-cited expected logs. No burned program uses it today.

Count

Census: 2 programs in 1 estate (T8, db373dc00; key missing copybook: z/OS Connect product once #7846's prefix fix merges). Burned: 0.

Class / Sibling gaps

Class: IBM product runtimes with no model (product copybook families in gap_prevalence._COPYBOOK_FAMILIES: ISPF, Sockets, DFSORT, COBOL compiler, now z/OS Connect).
